Essar Steel Limited

Our office for Essar Steel Limited is way over in Kapadwanj, at 4504 Nadi Darwaja. If you know the area, you know it’s an old part of town with a lot of history. The streets around Nadi Darwaja are narrow and can get really packed with people and scooters, especially on market days. It’s a far cry from the big industrial parks you might expect for a steel company. Our building is right in the thick of it. It’s an old-style structure, nothing like the modern steel and glass towers in the cities. We’ve got our desks set up and we deal with whatever comes our way. The dust in Gujarat can be a lot, so we are always cleaning the surfaces. Life moves a bit slower here compared to Ahmedabad or Vadodara, but we still have plenty to keep us occupied. We deal with the local requirements and keep our records in order. Sometimes the power cuts out for a bit, but we just wait it out or use the backup. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know the people living and working nearby, and they know where to find us. It’s just a small office in a busy street, but it serves us well. There aren't any fancy lobby areas or receptionists. You just walk in and talk to whoever is available. That’s just how we run things in Kapadwanj.
