Vijaya Ganapathy Stores

We have been running things here at 249 Ambalathadayar Madam Street for quite a while now. It is a busy little spot and the street outside is almost always full of noise and people moving about. We usually open up early in the morning, right as the first light starts hitting the front of the shop. It’s a bit of a routine by now. We sweep the front, get the lights on, and wait for the first customers to wander in. Some are regulars who we see every single day, while others are just passing through the neighborhood. The shelves in here are pretty packed, and we do our best to keep everything in its right place, though it’s a constant battle with things getting moved around. The building itself has seen better days, and the paint is a bit faded, but it’s our space and it works for us. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a straightforward store where you can find what you need without too much fuss. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We spend a lot of time chatting with the neighbors and keeping an eye on the street. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from dawn until we finally pull the shutters down late in the evening.
