Thiraviam Orthopaedic Hospital

Our place is out on the Tirunelveli Main Road in Therekalputhoor. The address is number 2/191, right where the road gets wide and the traffic starts to pick up speed. We focus on bones and joints, so we see a lot of people limping in or coming in with white casts on their arms. It’s a very straightforward kind of place. We have long wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn to see the doctor. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint one of these days, but we’re usually more worried about the patients than the decor. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the ceiling fans going full blast to move the air around. We’ve been here for quite some time now, and we feel like we’ve seen just about everything. From little kids falling off their bikes to older folks with stiff knees and aching backs. We don't do any big promotions or put ads in the paper. Most people find their way to us because their cousin or a neighbor told them we were decent people. We take our time with each person who comes through the door, so things might run a bit behind the schedule sometimes. That’s just because we want to make sure everyone gets looked at properly before they leave. It’s a local hospital for local people. There really isn't any more to it than that. We just focus on the work at hand.
