Kumari Naatu Traditional Tamil Medicine

We've been here in Vanniyoor at the Vazhavilai Parakuntu spot for quite some time now. Dealing with traditional Tamil medicine isn't just a job for us, it's what people around here have always done. My family spent years learning about the different herbs and roots that grow in our local soil. We don't have a big fancy office, just the place here where we prepare everything by hand. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to dry the plants properly, but we manage somehow. People come by the post office area and find us easily enough once they ask around. We keep the methods old-school because that's how we were taught by the elders. It takes a lot of time to grind things down and mix them right, but rushing it doesn't work with this kind of medicine. The smell of the herbs is always in the air around the shop. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. Mostly, folks just hear about us from their neighbors or relatives who stopped by before. It's a quiet way of living, working with what nature gives us right here in the village. We try to keep enough stock on hand, but since it's all manual, sometimes we run low on certain things if the season is off. It's just us working here, making sure the traditional ways don't get forgotten in the middle of everything changing so fast nowadays.
