Kumar Ice Factory

Our place is Kumar Ice Factory, situated at 15 Ammandivilai Colony. We are on the road that heads toward Parvathipuram in Nagercoil. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy store. We spend our days making sure the ice blocks are frozen solid and the machinery is running like it’s supposed to. It’s a noisy environment sometimes because of the compressors, but that’s just the sound of work being done. Most of our neighbors in the colony are used to us being here by now. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy things about us. It is just a few of us making sure the local shops and homes get the ice they need. The humidity in Nagercoil can be tough, so our job is pretty important for keeping things fresh. We’ve had some long days here, especially during the summer when everyone is calling at the same time. Sometimes things break down and we have to fix them ourselves in the middle of the night. It isn’t the most glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Our walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We just keep our heads down and focus on the production. If you’re driving down Parvathipuram Road, you’ll pass right by us. We’ve been here a long time and don't plan on going anywhere else.
