Indira Store

Indira Store has been at 21 Kulasekharam for quite a while now. Being near the junction means there is always noise from the traffic, but it helps people find us easily. It is just a small place. We mostly stock daily groceries and things you might run out of in the kitchen. My wife helps me with the accounts, and I handle the heavy lifting and the stock. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. The shelves are wooden and a bit worn out at the edges. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just a neighborhood shop. Most of our customers live within walking distance, so they just pop in for a packet of milk or some tea leaves. We try to keep the prices fair because we live here too. The mornings are usually the busiest when everyone is rushing to work or school. We keep the door open to let the breeze in, though it brings in some noise from the junction. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized, but we’re used to it. We don't really do any advertising. People just know we are here. It’s a steady life. Nothing too exciting happens, but it’s our business and we take care of it as best as we can. We’ve seen the junction change a lot over the years.
