Down here in Tamil Nadu, our office is at 30, Arumugam Pillaiyar Kovil Street. It’s a quiet enough street in the Kottar area of Nagercoil. Being near the temple means we hear the bells sometimes, which is a nice change from the usual construction noise. The building is older, but it stays relatively cool despite the sun being so bright most of the year. We don't have a big corporate team, just a handful of us who know how to handle the local projects. Most of our day is spent coordinating with workers and checking on the progress of different sites around town. We use a lot of local materials when we can, and we know most of the suppliers by name. It’s the kind of place where you can walk in and see the grit on our shoes because we’ve probably just come back from a dusty site. We don't spend much on decorations or fancy office furniture. We’d rather spend that on getting the right tools. Sometimes things go wrong, like a delivery being late or the weather turning bad, but we just figure it out. That's the way it works here. We've been part of this neighborhood for a while, and we like the simple way things are done in Nagercoil. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
