At H P L & Company, we spend our days at 34, Marthandam Road in Melpuram. It is a regular office space, nothing too fancy to speak of for the most part. We have a few desks, some old filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking noise if it’s on the high setting. Being on Marthandam Road means there is a lot of noise from the bikes and trucks passing by all day long. Sometimes it gets a bit distracting, but you get used to it after a while and barely notice the horns. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of staff. It is just a few of us handling the daily paperwork and whatever else comes across our desks. We try to stay organized, though sometimes the stacks of papers get a little high when we are especially busy. We’ve been in Melpuram for a while now, so we know the local shops where we get our lunch and the guy who delivers the water bottles every week. There isn't a lot of mystery to what we do here. We just show up, do the work that needs doing, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a practical way to spend the day. We don’t have any big speeches about our values or anything like that; we just focus on getting through the tasks at hand at number 34. It’s a simple setup for a simple business.
