Gokulam Hospital

Gokulam Hospital is right on Vagaiyady Kulalar Street in Kottar. If you are looking for number 8, that is us. The street is a bit narrow so parking isn't always the easiest thing to figure out if you bring a big car. We see a lot of local people from the neighborhood. It is an old part of town and you can feel that when you walk around outside. Inside the hospital, it is mostly quiet until the morning rush starts with the new patients. We have a few benches for people to wait. The floors are scrubbed every morning but they still show their age after so many years. We don't have any of those big posters or glossy brochures you see in the new city hospitals. Just some old notices taped to the wall near the entrance. The staff stays busy with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon for most of us. It gets dusty because of the construction nearby lately. We just try to keep things running. Kottar is a busy place and we are just one small part of it. Some days are slower than others. We don't really do much talking about ourselves, we just open the doors and start the day. The building is simple and doesn't stand out much from the other shops and houses on the street. It’s just how things are around here. We’ve been at this address for a long time.
