We are based out of J.J. Cottage in a place called Chembaruthi Kala Vilai. It’s in the Poovancodu area, near Chenkody. This part of the region is very green and quiet compared to the main city of Chennai. Prabin Kumar and the rest of us run Glaret Constructions from here. It’s basically a family-run feel. We started this because we wanted to handle construction projects in our own way, without all the corporate overhead. The office is part of the house area, so it’s very informal. We might be sitting on the porch talking about a layout or a budget. We don't have a glossy brochure or a sales team. If you want to know about us, you just come by and have a chat. We do a lot of work with local materials and local people. It feels better that way. Sometimes the rain slows us down, but we just wait it out and get back to it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to build things that last and make the people who hired us happy enough to tell their friends. It's a simple life and a simple business. We take pride in the fact that we are just regular folks working hard on every site we take on, day after day.
