Family Goods Service

We are located on the Old Road in Kaliakkavilai, not far from the main market. It’s a good spot because people are always around doing their shopping or heading to the post office, which is just down the way. Family Goods Service is basically what the name says; we handle goods for families and whoever else needs things moved or sorted. The building is an older one, which fits in with the vibe of Old Road. It’s got high ceilings and can get a bit drafty when the wind picks up. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find us in the back among the crates and parcels. Every day starts with looking at the list of what needs to go out and what’s just arrived. It can get a bit chaotic when three trucks show up at once, but we usually figure it out. We’ve been in Kaliakkavilai for a while now, so we know the shortcuts through the streets to avoid the market traffic when it's at its worst. It’s a lot of lifting and paperwork, and sometimes our pens run out of ink right when we need them. We just keep going until the work is done for the day, then we lock up and head home. It’s just us doing our bit to keep things moving. It isn't always glamorous, but it keeps us busy and the community seems to appreciate it.
