D Kamak Nagercoil

Being right across from the Vadaseri Bus Stand means there is never a quiet moment here. D Kamak has been at this number 4 spot for quite some time now. The noise of the buses pulling in and out starts early in the morning and does not really stop until late at night. We get a lot of people just passing through Nagercoil who drop in because we are right there in their way. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of stock into a small space. We often have to move three things just to get to one item at the back. It is a bit of a workout every day. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing team, it is just us answering the phone and writing things down in a ledger. The ink sometimes smudges on the paper when it is humid. We have had the same old sign out front for years and it is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us. We know the tea seller nearby and the other shop owners on the block. It is a tight-knit group of people working here. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the shop is open on time. It is a lot of standing on your feet, but that is the nature of the job in this part of town.
