Operating out of 35 Main Bazaar is always interesting because the market is never quiet. We handle both ice fish and dry fish here, which means our days start very early, usually before the sun is even up properly. The smell is something you get used to after a week or two, but it is the sign of a good stock. People come to us from all over the area because they know we get our deliveries regularly. Dealing with fresh fish requires a lot of ice, so we are always moving heavy blocks around to keep everything at the right temperature. The dry fish side of the business is a bit different. It is slower and requires a different kind of storage. I have been in the Main Bazaar for years now and I have seen many shops come and go, but people always need to eat. My hands are usually wet or salty from working the crates, so I don't spend much time on the phone or doing paperwork unless I have to. It is a physical job and it gets tiring on the back, but it is honest work. We don't have a website or any of that, just the shop front where you can see what we have today. If the catch is good, we are busy. If it is a bad weather day at the coast, we just tidy up and wait.
