Arumugam Juice Shop

Arumugam Juice Shop is at number 44 on Vasiveeswarn Road in Vadasery. It’s a small place. We’ve been here for many years. My family started this shop, and now I’m the one running it mostly. We don’t have a big store with glass windows. It’s just an open counter that faces the street. We get the fruit from the market every morning before the sun even comes up. Vadasery is a busy place, especially with all the bikes and scooters on Vasiveeswarn Road. We don’t have a big menu. We just make juice from whatever fruit is fresh in the market that day. Sometimes we have oranges, and sometimes we have grapes. It really just depends on what is good. We don't use any fancy machines to do the work. We just do it the way we’ve always done it here. It’s a lot of standing and cleaning up after every customer. We don’t have any marketing or advertisements to bring people in. People just know we are here because we've been around so long. Most of our customers are the same faces every day. They stop by on their way to work or when they are going home in the evening. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy. The shop isn't much to look at, just some crates and the juicer on the table. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just focus on making the drinks and keeping the place running. It's our neighborhood shop and we like the local feel.
