Alsafa Mart

Alsafa Mart is at Nadukadai Junction, right on Thakkalai Road. We are opposite Ols Mask. Thiruvithancode is where we’ve been for quite some time now. The junction gets really busy with people and bikes. Our shop is just a regular place. We open up early when the sun is just starting to come up. People usually stop by on their way to work to grab things. We stock what people need for their houses, nothing too fancy. It’s not one of those big modern supermarkets. Just simple shelves and a lot of items. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a bit of noise but we don’t mind. We spend a lot of time cleaning the counters and the floor gets dusty because of the road right outside. If you live around here you probably already know where we are. We try to keep things organized but it gets a bit messy when a big delivery comes in. The truck parks outside and we have to carry everything inside ourselves. It’s hard work but we are used to it by now. My cousin helps out in the afternoons when it gets more crowded. We see the same faces every day which is nice. We don't have a huge sign, just the one over the door. Sometimes the rain hits the roof so loud we can’t hear each other. We just keep going. It’s a simple life running a mart in Thiruvithancode.
