Our office is tucked away at 14/106-C in Civil Lines. It’s a relatively quiet part of town compared to the main markets, which is nice when we have a lot of work to focus on. Zoya International has been operating from this spot for some time. We handle a lot of international dealings, mostly involving a lot of back-and-forth emails and phone calls at odd hours because of the time differences. The office itself is pretty simple, with a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets that are probably fuller than they should be. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. People just walk in and we say hello. It’s a small group of us here, and we all end up doing a bit of everything, whether it’s checking documents or talking to the shipping agents. Civil Lines is a good location because it’s easy for people to find us, but it still feels like a neighborhood. We take our tea breaks outside when the weather is decent. There’s always something to sort out with a shipment or a payment, so the day goes by pretty fast. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to make sure the work we do is solid and that the people we deal with are satisfied. It’s just a regular business day, every day, trying to keep things organized. Usually, we just lock up around six and do it all again tomorrow.
