Vikash General Store

Vikash General Store is a small family-run business on Bamba Road. We are at 119/113, right in the middle of the Gumti No 5 area. The Subzi Mandi is just a few steps away. We sell all sorts of small items, from toothbrushes to snacks and bottled water. It’s a busy spot because of the market nearby. I usually start the day at 7 AM to get everything ready. The shop is narrow, so I have to be careful how I arrange the boxes. If I put too much out, there’s no room to walk. I’ve been working here for many years now. My hands are usually a bit dusty from handling the sacks of grain. We don't have any staff, just me and occasionally my brother. We know the routines of the people who live around here. They come at the same time every day. It’s a very local kind of place. We don't use any computers for our work. Everything is done manually. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the door, so we have to keep an eye on that. We just want to provide what the neighborhood needs. It’s a simple shop with a lot of history in these walls. Nothing fancy, just honest work. We are part of the daily life on Bamba Road. Sometimes the kids come in for a single candy, and that's okay too. We just keep the shelves as full as we can.
