Vijay Agencies is right here at 59/115 Birhana Road in Kanpur. If you know Kanpur, you know Birhana Road is always packed with people and carts moving back and forth. We’ve been in this building for years, and it’s got that old-school feel to it. We deal in various goods, acting as a middleman for a lot of different products. Our shop is crowded with boxes piled up to the ceiling, and there’s always a ledger open on the main desk. We don't do the whole digital marketing thing or have a fancy website. Most of our business happens through word of mouth and people just walking in from the street. We’ve known the other shopkeepers on this block for decades. It’s a lot of drinking tea and talking about the market prices while we wait for deliveries to arrive. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes, and we have to wait around, but we’re used to the pace of life here. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It’s just a family-run kind of thing where everyone pitches in. We focus on getting the orders right and making sure the stock is moving. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve seen the city change quite a bit, but Birhana Road still has its own unique energy that we’re glad to be a part of.
