Verdhman General Store

Verdhman General Store is situated at 2A/87, Nawabganj, on the Azad Nagar Road. We are near the Nawabganj H O and quite close to the Nawabganj Thana in Kanpur. Being near the police station means there is always someone around. Our shop is a basic setup with concrete walls and a lot of metal racking. We sell all the usual things like grains, sugar, and cleaning supplies. Kanpur can be very busy and loud, and Azad Nagar Road is no exception. We start our day early, usually before the traffic gets too heavy, so we can get the heavy sacks moved inside. The shop doesn't have any air conditioning, so it gets pretty warm in the summer months, but we have a big ceiling fan that keeps the air moving. We've got a small stool behind the counter where we sit between customers. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to say hello or ask about the news in the area. We don't use any fancy computers, just a simple way of keeping track of what we sell. The address 2A/87 has been our home for work for a long time now. We know the way the light hits the street in the evening and when the crowds from the Thana will be passing by. It is just a regular Kanpur store doing regular business every day for the local folks who live nearby.
