Our office is over at 14/106 in Civil Lines. It’s a relatively quiet spot compared to the busier parts of the city. We handle a lot of the paperwork and logistics for shipping things out and bringing things in. United Exim isn't a big operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us sitting at our desks, dealing with customs forms and tracking shipments on the computer. The office gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, so we have to keep the blinds pulled down mostly. We’ve got stacks of files everywhere, though we try to keep things organized. Civil Lines is a nice area to work in because you can actually find a place to park most days. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to vendors or checking on transport schedules. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just have to wait it out with a cup of chai. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to get the jobs done without too many mistakes. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. If you stop by, you’ll probably find us sorting through bills of lading or arguing with a courier over a late delivery. It’s basic trade work. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the daily tasks that come across our desks every morning.
