U H M Hospital

U H M Hospital is situated right on Parade. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty busy around here. We’ve been operating from this spot for a good while now. It’s a straightforward kind of place. People walk in, they have their concerns, and we try to see them as quickly as the day allows. The hospital isn't huge but it covers what the neighborhood needs. Mornings are usually the loudest time. You can hear the sounds from the street outside mixed with the nurses talking. We don't spend a lot of time worrying about how the lobby looks as long as it’s clean and there are enough chairs for everyone. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit in the hallway or the tea lady is late, but that’s just life at U H M. We have a lot of locals who come to us because we’re right here on Parade and they don’t want to travel far. It’s easier that way for everyone. Most of the staff has been here long enough to know the regular patients by name. It’s not corporate or anything like that. We just have a job to do and we get on with it. When things get quiet in the evening, you can actually hear the traffic die down on the road. It’s a decent place to work and a decent place for people to come when they aren't feeling well.
