Trivedi General Store

This is Trivedi General Store. We are located on the Main Road in Generalganj, Kanpur. If you know Kanpur, you know how busy Generalganj gets. It is a crowded market with lots of noise and people everywhere. Our store has been here for a long time. It’s a typical general store with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We sell things like pens, notebooks, small hardware items, and some snacks. It is a lot of work keeping track of everything in such a tight space. I usually have my brother helping me out because the customers can be quite demanding and they want everything fast. The Main Road is always dusty and the traffic never seems to stop. We open up the shutters early in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night. I spend a lot of time talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. We share news and sometimes have tea together when things are slow. The building is old and sometimes the roof leaks a little during the heavy rains, but we just put out buckets and keep going. We don't have any fancy displays or anything. It's just a shop where you get what you need for your daily life. I like being in the middle of all the action here in the market. It keeps the day moving fast and there is always something to do around the store.
