Tej Singh General Store

Our store is on Asohok Nagar Road in Kanpur. It is a busy street, and Tej Singh General Store has been a part of it for a long time. We have all sorts of items crammed into the space we have. From cleaning supplies to snacks, everything is there if you look for it. Sometimes it takes a minute to find something because we keep adding new things to the piles. The fans hum all day to keep the place from getting too hot. Most of our day is spent talking to customers from the 208001 area. They tell us about their families while we tally up their bills. We don't have a fancy computer, just a calculator and a notebook. Sometimes the sidewalk gets blocked by the boxes we just received, but we move them as fast as we can. It’s just us working here, making sure the shelves don't stay empty for too long. The floor is made of old stone, and it’s seen a lot of feet walk over it. We don't do any big advertising; people just know we are here on the road. It’s a practical shop for practical people. We stay open late because we know some people finish work long after dark. It’s just a normal way to run a store in a place like Kanpur. No bells or whistles, just simple selling and buying for everyone who stops by.
