Suresh Provision Store

This shop in Gadarian Purwa is where I spend most of my day. It is located at Shop No.123/352, and it’s been a part of this Kanpur neighborhood for a long time. It’s a basic provision store, nothing more and nothing less. I sell the usual things people need like flour, pulses, oil, and maybe some biscuits for the kids. The space is a bit tight because we try to fit a lot of inventory in here. Sometimes the boxes are stacked high near the entrance, but people manage to get through. It gets busy in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work and realizes they forgot to buy something for dinner. I usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. My hands are usually dusty from handling the sacks of grain, but that is part of the job. It is not a place for browsing; people usually come in with a list and I pull things from the shelves. I know which brand of tea most of the ladies around here prefer. It’s just how things work in a small local store. We keep the ledger books and handle the change, sometimes the coins run short but we figure it out. It’s a simple life running a shop here in Gadarian Purwa. We don’t do anything fancy, just keep the supplies coming so the neighborhood stays fed. It keeps us busy and the pantry full.
