Sundar Lal General Store

Sundar Lal General Store is located on Canal Road in the heart of Ghasiyari Mandi, Kanpur. If you walk down this road, you’ll see our shop with its simple wooden counters and stacks of goods. We have been here serving the local community for a long time. The store is filled with the smell of different spices and grains because we sell a lot of things in bulk. We don't have any of those modern checkout counters; we still do things the old way with a simple ledger and a calculator. It’s a bit slow sometimes, but our customers don’t seem to mind much. They usually stop to tell us some news while we bag their groceries. The area is quite crowded, so parking a vehicle near the shop is always a bit of a struggle for people. Most of our regulars just walk over from the nearby houses. The shop is a bit dark inside because we don't have many windows, but it stays a bit cooler that way during the harsh Kanpur summers. We stock all the basic stuff like soap, oil, pulses, and sugar. There are no big signs or slogans here. We just do our work and go home at the end of the day. It’s a quiet existence in a loud part of town. We are just glad to be a small part of the daily life here in 208001 for so many families.
