Singhal & Associates

We’ve been operating out of Rambagh in Kanpur for a long time now. Our address is 104/86. It’s a busy part of the city, and there’s always something going on outside our door. The office itself is tucked away in an older building. It has high ceilings and those big old fans that make a lot of noise but keep us cool. Singhal and the associates spend their days here surrounded by piles of documents and blueprints. It’s not a very modern setup, but it’s ours. We have a small corner where we make tea, and that’s where most of our planning happens. Kanpur is a hardworking city, and we like to think we fit right in with that. People come to us when they have something that needs sorting out, and we just sit down and look at it with them. There’s no pretense here. Sometimes the traffic in Rambagh makes it hard for people to get to us on time, but we don’t mind. We just stay open until the work is finished. The walls are a bit faded, and the floor is worn down in the spots where we walk the most. It’s a place where work actually happens, not just a place to look important. We know the local shopkeepers and the guys who deliver the mail. It’s a tight-knit area, and we’re glad to be a part of it. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, one day at a time, until it is time to go.
