Laxmi Kishore Overseas

We run Laxmi Kishore Overseas out of a house at H. No. 72 in Block B of Shyam Nagar. It’s a quiet residential street, but we stay pretty busy with the import and export side of things. Most of the day is spent on the phone or checking emails about various shipments and customs forms. We deal with a lot of different goods, so the inventory we handle is always changing depending on the month. Sometimes the front porch is full of boxes waiting for a courier, and other times it’s just us doing paperwork in the back room. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so it doesn’t feel like a big corporate office environment. We’ve been in Shyam Nagar for a long time and our neighbors are used to the delivery vans coming and going at odd hours. Shipping can be a real headache with all the rules and the delays that happen at the ports, but we’ve learned how to manage it over time. We don't have a big storefront because most of our business happens through contacts we've made over the years. We just try to get the orders processed correctly so there aren't any surprises when the crates finally arrive. It’s a lot of coordinating between different cities and sometimes different countries. We like the flexibility of working from this location. It’s simple, it works for us, and we don't have to deal with the main market. It keeps the overhead costs down which is good for everyone.
