Shubh Samriddhi Jewellers Private Limited is situated at Kerarkote, right near Hanuman Ghat. It’s a very traditional area. You can hear the sounds from the ghats throughout the day. Our shop doesn't have a big number, it’s just at 0, 54. We’ve been set up here for a while. The space is a bit narrow, so we have to be careful how we arrange the counters. We sell various bits of jewelry, mostly what people need for their daily lives or small ceremonies. We aren't interested in the high-fashion stuff you see in magazines. We just provide what the local families ask for. My cousin usually sits at the front desk while I handle the back office stuff. It gets very busy during the pilgrimage seasons when more people are visiting the Hanuman Ghat. We keep the shop clean, but it's an old building, so the floors are a bit uneven. We don't mind. It has character. We spend a lot of time talking to the regular customers who stop by just to say hello. Sometimes they don't buy anything, and that’s fine. It’s part of being in this neighborhood. We just keep the inventory updated and make sure the locks are secure at night. It's a steady life and we are happy with how things go. The river breeze feels good in the evening when we finally lock up the gates.
