If you're looking for our Kanpur branch, we’re based at 117/Q/461, Sharda Nagar. It’s the same building as the U P Bhumi Sudhar Nigam. Working here under the Scott Wilson India Pvt Ltd name means we're right in the thick of things in Uttar Pradesh. Sharda Nagar is a well-known area, so most people don't have trouble finding us once they get to this side of Kanpur. The office itself is quite traditional. We don't have open-plan lounges or bean bags. We have desks that are usually piled high with site reports and maps. Kailash Chand Srivastava is often here making sure everything is running the way it should. The atmosphere is pretty quiet most of the time, except when we’re debating over a specific project detail. We’ve got a routine that works for us, starting early in the morning before the heat really sets in. The building is older, which gives it a bit of character that you don't find in those new glass boxes. We’re a small group of staff members who take the work seriously but don't feel the need to dress it up in fancy language. It’s a regular office where we drink a lot of tea and get through a lot of data entry and planning. It’s been our home base for a good while now, and we’ve grown used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. We focus on the tasks at hand and don't worry about corporate trends.
