Sarah Travels

We are over at Shop No. 13 on Canal Road, right where it meets Mall Road. Being so close to the Old Taxi Stand means there is always something happening right outside our window. It is a very lively and noisy spot in Kanpur. We handle travel bookings and help people plan out their various trips. The shop itself is actually quite small, just barely enough room for a desk and a couple of chairs for people who stop by. We have been here for a good while now and have seen many people come and go from the taxi stand over the years. It gets especially busy in the evenings when everyone is trying to get home or starting off on a long journey. We spend a lot of our time on the phone, checking on the status of buses or cars. Our walls are covered with old maps and various notes we have scribbled down over the weeks. It is not a fancy setup by any means, but it is practical for the work we do. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the longer shifts. Sometimes the rain floods the edge of the road a bit, but we usually stay open regardless. Most of our customers are locals who have known us for years. We do not do any real advertising; people just seem to know where to find us. It is a simple business and we just take things one day at a time.
