We have been sitting here at 27/82 on Birhana Road for quite a while now. Kanpur is a place that never really stays quiet, and Birhana Road is right in the middle of all that noise. Most mornings start with the sound of shutters opening up and down the street. Our shop is just one of many in this 208001 zip code area. It is not a very big space, but it fits what we need to do. People walk by all day long, some stopping to ask directions and others coming in for work. The building itself has seen better days, maybe a bit of paint would help, but it works for us. We spend most of the day dealing with the usual stuff, paperwork and talking to folks who drop by. It gets really hot in the summer months, and the fan overhead just moves the warm air around, but that is just how it is here. You get used to the rhythm of the traffic outside and the tea seller who comes by around four in the afternoon. We don’t have any fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name R R Jain on the door so people know they found the right spot. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we just keep at it day after day without too much fuss. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we have to wait, but usually, things get done eventually.
