Priya Hospital

Priya Hospital is located at D/25 H I G in the Barra area of Kanpur, right near the World Bank colony. This neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. The hospital is a regular part of the local scenery now. We have a heavy iron gate at the entrance and a small patch of dirt where people park their scooters. The reception area is usually the busiest spot, with families sitting together and kids running around the legs of the chairs. Our staff consists of people who have been with us for a long time. We have a routine that works. The morning starts with cleaning the floors and checking on the patients who stayed overnight. The rooms are plain, with white walls and metal beds. It’s not a luxury hotel, it’s a hospital. We focus on the practical side of things, making sure the medicines are in stock and the doctors are available when someone walks in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of life in Kanpur. We know the local shopkeepers and the people living in the colony. It feels more like a community spot than a big institution. We just do our work, day in and day out, without any of the fancy corporate talk. It’s an honest way to spend the day helping our neighbors.
