You can find us at 118/333, right near the railway crossing at Gumti No-5. The sound of the trains is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. Being on G. T Road means there’s never a quiet moment. We sell all the usual general store items like oil, spices, and soaps. The shop is small and the shelves are wooden and a bit old now. I keep things organized the best I can, though it gets messy when we get a big delivery. My family has been in this area for a long time. We know the neighbors and the people who work nearby. When the crossing gate closes, a lot of people stop in while they wait for the train to pass. It keeps us on our toes. I don't have a big staff, just me mostly. We don't do any online stuff or delivery, just over-the-counter sales. It’s a straightforward business. We wake up, open the shutters, and see who comes in. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the door, but we just put a bucket out and keep going. It’s a real place for real people living in Kanpur. We just try to be useful to the folks around here. There is no need for anything complicated. We just sell what is needed and keep the shop running through the heat and the rain.
