We are based at 197/189, Ram Rai Sarai, over in the Jajmau area. It’s an old part of the city and the streets can be quite narrow and crowded, especially when the trucks are trying to get through. Our workspace is pretty basic. We have a front area where we handle the mail and a larger back room where we keep some of the export stock before it goes out. There’s always the smell of cardboard and maybe a bit of dust in the air. We’ve been here at Pacific Exports for a while, and most of the people on this street know us. We don’t have a fancy website or a big sign outside. It’s just a regular door that stays open during the day. We spend most of our time checking the weight of packages and making sure the labels are stuck on right. The fans overhead make a clicking sound that we don't even notice anymore. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s not a high-pressure office, but we do have to stay focused when the deadlines for the ships are coming up. We just do the work as it comes and try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. It's how we've always done it here.
