Ply Wala

Our shop is at 108/1 on P. Road. If you know this part of Kanpur, you know it’s a place where a lot of trade and business happens every single day. We sell plywood and all sorts of related materials for building furniture. The shop is basically a big warehouse space stacked high with different sheets of wood from the floor to the ceiling. It smells like sawdust and glue most of the time, which is something we’ve just gotten used to. We don’t have a fancy display area for customers. People just come in, tell us the thickness and the size they need, and we pull it from the stack for them. It’s heavy work, moving those big sheets around all day, but it keeps us moving. We have a small, old desk near the front where we keep the ledger and handle the cash and bills. P. Road is always loud with traffic, horns, and people moving goods back and forth. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the noise anymore. Most of our customers are local carpenters or people trying to build something for their own homes. We don't spend any money on advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here on the road and stop by. It’s a simple business. We buy the ply, we stack it up, and we sell it to anyone who needs it. There isn't much else to say about it.
