Nehal Leather Works

Down here in Jajmau, at 39 Kailash Nagar, things are always moving. Nehal Leather Works is right in the heart of the leather area. You can smell the materials as soon as you turn the corner. It’s a heavy, earthy scent that you just get used to after a week or two. Our workshop isn't very large, but we make the most of the space we have. There are scraps of leather on the floor and tools scattered across the benches. It’s a working space, not a showroom. We spend our hours cutting, stitching, and checking the hides that come in. It’s physical work and your hands usually end up stained or sore by the end of the shift. The lighting in the back room isn't great, so we do the detailed stuff near the front door. People walk by and peek in all the time. Kailash Nagar is a tight-knit community, so we know everyone on our block. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone like that. It’s just us doing the actual labor. Some days the heat is a bit much, especially in the summer, but we keep the fans going and just get on with it. We’ve been here at this address for quite a while now. It’s a simple operation, really. We just focus on the leather and making sure the orders are ready when they need to be. There isn't much more to it than that.
