We’ve been here at 120/315 Lajpat Nagar for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out in the street. My brother and I run the place mostly by ourselves. Some days are slow and we just sit outside on the stools watching the cars go by, and other days it’s so packed we barely have time to drink tea. The shop isn't anything fancy. It’s got some old wooden shelves that probably need a fresh coat of paint, but they hold everything just fine. Most people in the neighborhood know us by name. We usually open up around ten in the morning, unless the traffic is really bad. Dealing with the local crowd is interesting because you hear all the gossip about what’s happening in the colony. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use the hand fans. It gets hot in the summer, but that’s just how it is here. We handle the paperwork ourselves on an old desk in the corner. It's a simple life. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the stock piles up and we have to move boxes around to find a place to sit. People stop by just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything. That’s the nice thing about being in Lajpat Nagar for so long. You get to know the families around here.
