Maya Hospital

Maya Hospital is situated at D-36 on the World Bank Barra By Pass Road. It is a very busy spot because of how close we are to the main road, and you can hear the sound of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. We have been running things here for a long time now. The building is solid and strong, though it looks pretty much like every other concrete block in this part of town. Inside, we have different sections set up for whatever people might need when they walk in. There is a lot of walking back and forth between the different rooms all day. I think the floor tiles have actually been worn down a little bit in the main hallway from all the thousands of feet that have passed through over the years. We always keep a big pot of tea going in the back room for the staff because the shifts here can get very long and tiring. It isn’t always the easiest thing working right next to the By Pass, especially with all the dust and the constant engine noise, but being in this location makes it easy for people to find us quickly if there is an emergency. We have some hospital beds and the usual medical equipment you would expect to see. Sometimes the power flickers for a second and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, but that is just a normal part of life here.
