We are located at 107/89 in Jawahar Nagar, Kanpur. This is a neighborhood where everyone seems to be doing some kind of business. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a regular brick structure with a heavy metal gate. We spend most of our time in the back where the actual work happens. The front office is just a small room with two desks and a couple of chairs for visitors. We do not get many visitors who are not delivery drivers or local workers. It gets very dusty here, especially in the summer, so we are always wiping down the tables. We have a routine that we stick to every day. We start early, have tea at ten, and work through until the sun goes down. We do not have a fancy website or a big marketing budget. We mostly just rely on the work we have done before. The people working here are mostly from the nearby area, so we all know each other’s families. It is a very informal atmosphere. Sometimes we have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. We have got piles of material samples and old catalogs sitting around on the shelves. It is a bit crowded, but we know where everything is. We just try to do a good job and keep the business running without making it too complicated or stressful.
