Lederwares (India)

We are located over in Kanpur, specifically in the Sohan Lal Compound at Bansmandi. If you know this area, you know it is always crowded and there is a lot of movement. The compound itself is an old place, and our address is 89/193-194. It has that specific smell of leather and old dust that you just get used to after working here for a week. We have our workspace set up and it is usually quite loud during the day. Between the machines running and the guys shouting to be heard over them, it is never really quiet. The office part is small, just enough for a few chairs and a desk covered in papers and various leather samples. We do not go for anything fancy here. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to think about that right now. We just focus on the leather. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It is just how things go in this part of town. Bansmandi is a tough place but it is where the heart of the trade is. We have been at this for a long time now. Most of the staff have been around since we first started. We eat our lunch together near the back entrance where it stays a bit cooler. It is a simple setup but it works for us.
