Rati Lal Shanti Lal & Co.

We are located at 77/152 Latouche Road, right near the Bank of Baroda in the Capital Building. This whole area is quite famous for all sorts of hardware, tools, and heavy machinery, and we’ve been a part of this street for a very long time. The name Rati Lal Shanti Lal has been around for many years. My grandfather was the one who started things here and we just kept it going as a family. It’s a very busy and often dusty street with lots of trucks and carts coming and going at all hours. Inside the shop, we have wooden shelves piled high with all sorts of metal parts and tools. It might look a bit cluttered or messy to someone else, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. We don't really have a website or anything modern like that. People just walk in through the front door or give us a call on the old landline phone. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades, sometimes even bringing their children along. We often talk about how the neighborhood used to be while we pull out whatever parts they are looking for. It’s a very manual and traditional way of working, but it’s how we’ve always done things here. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of its own character. We use every bit of the space we have. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the constant traffic on Latouche Road, but we just shout a bit louder to be heard over the engines.
