Our business is located on the ground floor of Plot No. 75/7 on Halsey Road. It’s an old name for an old-style establishment. We’ve been on this road for decades, and the building has been through a lot of seasons. Halsey Road is always full of life, with people rushing by and vendors shouting. We are right in the thick of it. Inside, the ceilings are high and the walls are lined with wooden shelves that have been there since my father's time. We deal in general trading, so the items we have change depending on what's available and what people are looking for. It’s not a modern shop with glass doors. We have a heavy iron shutter that we roll up every morning. We still use a lot of manual methods for our bookkeeping, sitting at a big wooden desk that has seen a lot of years. It feels more personal that way. We know the other families who have shops nearby. We often stand out front and chat while the street is busy. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We don't have a marketing department or fancy brochures. If you need something, you come in and ask. We’ll look through the back rooms to see if we have it. It’s a slow, steady pace that suits us just fine. We’ve stayed here all these years because this road is our home.
