L & T Finance

The office here in Naubasta is right near the railway station, so we hear the trains passing by all day long. Being in Ward No.1 means we see a lot of people coming and going from the station. At L & T Finance, the day usually starts with a lot of paperwork and people waiting outside before we even open the doors. It can get pretty loud with the whistles and the tracks rattling nearby. We have a few desks set up and the computers stay busy until we close up for the evening. Most of our time is spent looking over documents and helping people figure out their forms. It is a practical kind of place, nothing too fancy, just some sturdy tables and enough light to see what we are doing. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really notices because we are always so focused on the task at hand. When the trains stop, a crowd usually spills out onto the street, and some of them wander in to ask questions about how things work. We just do our best to stay on top of the files and keep things moving. It gets a bit dusty being so close to the station, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We are used to the noise by now. It feels like a small community inside these walls, even though we deal with a lot of numbers every single day. We keep the kettle going for tea in the afternoons.
