We are located on Kanwari Ganj Road, which is right near the Punjab National Bank. It’s a convenient spot because everyone knows where the bank is. Our workspace is usually filled with the sound of whatever we are making that day. It isn't a massive factory, just a regular place where a few of us work together. We have been here for a while and the walls are covered in marks from moving equipment around. We try to stay focused on the tasks at hand, whether it is sorting materials or packing up the finished products. The road outside is always busy with cycles and carts. Sometimes the dust from the street comes in, so we have to wipe everything down constantly. We don't really have a front desk or a waiting room. If someone comes by, they just talk to whoever is closest to the door. We wear old clothes because the work is a bit dirty, and there is no point in looking fancy. It’s just us doing our jobs day in and day out. We don't think much about the future, we just look at what needs to be finished by the end of the week. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we need to do. The Punjab National Bank is always busy with people lining up, and we see them from our window while we work. Sometimes the heat in Kanwari Ganj gets to be a bit much, but we drink water and keep going.
