Khairbad Eye Hospital

Located at 112 202 in Swaroop Nagar, Khairbad Eye Hospital is where we spend our days. Swaroop Nagar is a decent area, and we’ve settled in nicely over the years. We mainly deal with eyes, so you’ll see a lot of people walking around with patches or squinting at the charts on our walls. The rooms are a bit small, and we’ve had to cram a lot of equipment into them, but we make it work. The lighting has to be a certain way for the eye exams, so some parts of the hospital are quite dark while others are very bright. It can be a bit confusing for new people. We don't have a fancy reception desk with a computer that works all the time; sometimes we still write things down in big ledgers. The chairs in the waiting room are plastic and a bit noisy when you move them. We don't have a PR person or anyone to tell us how to sound professional. We just talk to the patients like they’re our own family. If the coffee is cold, we apologize and keep moving. It’s a busy life, looking at eyes all day long. We see a lot of older folks who have been coming to Swaroop Nagar for decades. We just keep our heads down and focus on the task at hand. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we do every day without fail.
