Janhvi

Janhvi is run out of House No 285 in the N Block of Yashoda Nagar, Kanpur. It’s a typical residential neighborhood, so you’ll see kids playing in the street and people drying clothes on their balconies nearby. We’ve turned part of the house into our workspace. It’s not a big company with a fancy lobby. If you come to see us, you’ll probably be sitting on a plastic chair in what used to be a living room. We do a lot of our work right here, whether it’s sewing, packing, or just sorting through materials. Kanpur is a busy, gritty city, and Yashoda Nagar has its own frantic pace. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The neighbors are used to the delivery vans coming and going at odd hours. We don’t have a set of strict rules or uniforms; we just get the work done as it comes in. Sometimes we stay up late to finish an order, and other times we take it slow and chat over tea. It’s a family-run feel, even if not everyone is related. We know the people on our block and they know us. The house is always a bit cluttered with boxes and rolls of fabric, but we know where everything is. It’s just a local business trying to make a living in a crowded city.
