D. L. Enterprises

You can find D. L. Enterprises at Plot No. 19 in Kailash Nagar, Jajmau. If you know Jajmau, you know it’s an area where people really work hard. There are lots of small factories and workshops all around us. Our plot is a medium-sized space with a gated yard where we keep some of our materials. It gets very hot and dusty out there in the summer months. I spend most of my time walking between the yard and the small office shed we built in the corner. The office has a heavy metal door that’s hard to open when it’s humid. Inside, it’s just a desk, a couple of chairs, and a lot of samples of what we make. The walls are decorated with some old photos and a calendar that’s a couple of months out of date. We don't get many visitors besides the truck drivers who come to pick up orders. I keep a big water cooler near the door for the workers because the heat in Jajmau can be pretty intense. The noise from the machines next door is something you just get used to after a while. It’s not a fancy place by any means. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel, which can turn into a bit of a mess when the monsoon rains hit. We’ve been at Plot No. 19 for many years and we know all our neighbors. It’s a simple, industrial life. We just focus on getting our products out the gate on time and doing a decent job.
