Hamraz Travels

We are based at Hamraz Travels, right in the Hamraz Complex at Gf-1 in Bansmandi. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just wander in and ask about prices or schedules. Bansmandi is always crowded and noisy, which can be tiring, but it’s where all the action is. We’ve been running this travel desk for several years now. It’s not a very big space, just enough for a couple of desks and some chairs for customers to wait. We mostly handle taxi bookings and sometimes help people plan longer trips out of Kanpur. Our day starts early, usually before the sun is fully up, checking on the morning departures. It’s a lot of talking on the mobile and making sure the drivers have enough cash for petrol. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just try to get the cars where they need to be without too much trouble. Sometimes a booking gets cancelled at the last minute, or the weather turns bad, and we just have to figure it out as we go. We’ve got a lot of regulars from the market who use us because they know us by name. We like it that way. It’s a local business, run by local people who know these streets better than anyone. We just keep moving, same as the traffic outside.
