Aggarwal Silk House

We are tucked into Generalganj at 55/113. If you have been to this market, you know it can be a real squeeze with all the people and carts moving around. Aggarwal Silk House is where we spend our days surrounded by stacks of fabric and rolls of silk. It has been in the family for a bit, and the shelves are usually overflowing with different colors and patterns. We do not do much fancy advertising because the people who need silk usually find their way to our door eventually. It is a narrow shop, but we make the most of the space we have. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three or four people are trying to look at different materials at the same time. We just pull things down from the high shelves and spread them out on the counter. The lighting is not the best, so we often take a piece of cloth to the doorway to see the real color in the sunlight. We get a lot of regulars who come in looking for something specific for a wedding or a special outfit. It is nice to see the same faces year after year. We are not much for talk unless it is about the weight of the thread or how the weave looks. It is just a simple business in a busy market. We try to keep things organized but with so much stock, it is a constant battle to stay neat.
