Excel Computer Institute is right in the middle of Chamanganj, which is one of those parts of Kanpur that never seems to sleep. Our address is 88/495, and we are situated in the Humanyun Bagh area. If you are looking for us, being near Halim Muslim Inter College is the easiest way to find the building. It’s a lively neighborhood with students always walking around and shops selling everything you can imagine. Inside the institute, we have rows of computers and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s not the most modern-looking place, but everything works and that is what matters to us. The sound of keyboards clicking is the main thing you hear once you step inside. We spend our days helping people figure out how to use different programs and making sure the internet connection stays stable, which can be a challenge sometimes in this area. There is always a bit of dust because of the construction nearby, so we are constantly wiping down the screens. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy environment, but it feels like home to those of us who work here. We aren't doing anything fancy; we just make sure the machines are running and the people have a place to sit and learn. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have some old fans that do the job well enough.
